Bradgate Park Hike

April 26

$30pp includes: guided 10-mile hike & transportation.

Weโ€™ll likely kick things off near the Newtown Linford entrance, where we immediately step back in time among the ancient, crooked Oak Trees and the park’s actual residents: massive herds of Red and Fallow Deer. (Keep your cameras ready, but maintain your distance!)

The real fun starts when we hit the hills, scrambling up the granite slopes to conquer Old John. This iconic folly tower sits at the parkโ€™s peak, giving us a 360-degree victory view over the entire county. Trust me, the climb is worth the bragging rights!

After our peak performance, we’ll dip down into the serene woodsโ€”maybe even Swithland Woodโ€”for some shade and quieter trails. Our historical finale is the majestic ruin of Bradgate House, the childhood home of ill-fated Queen Lady Jane Grey. We’ll finish the loop with a refreshing walk beside the River Lin, wrapping up a perfect day of exploration.

This hike throws a little bit of everything at usโ€”smooth paths, muddy tracks, and rocky climbsโ€”so bring your sense of adventure (and sturdy boots!).
