Yorkshire 3 Peaks
Overview
Join Outdoor Recreation in completing the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks, over three days. These are challenging hikes that may require you to train for depending on your current fitness levels. The mountains of Whernside (736 m or 2,415 ft), Ingleborough (723 m or 2,372 ft) and Pen-y-ghent (694 m or 2,277 ft) are collectively known as the Three Peaks. The peaks form part of the Pennine range, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The highest points in the area.

Itinerary
Day One Saturday
Early 6am start from RAF Molesworth, and travel up to Yorkshire to tackle our first peak: Pen-Y-Ghent.
Day Two Sunday
Today we take on our middle peak: Whernside (5 hrs plus)
Day Three Monday
Our last day and the last of our three peaks today; Ingleborough, before heading back to RAF Molesworth where our journey ends.
Food
Our accommodation is located at a pub that serves food. Food is not included in the cost of this trip. Please see a link to the menu below:
Food and Drink โ The Station Inn at Ribblehead
Accommodation
You’ll be staying in the bunk house at Station Inn at Ribblehead, sharing same sex rooms. Sheets & pillow cases are provided by the Inn, ODR will provide sleeping bags. The station Inn was built around the same time as the famous Ribblehead viaduct it over looks, covering Batty Moss, and supports the 72 mile long Settle to Carlisle Railway.
Weather
The British weather can be very changeable. We are also hiking up three peaks with their own microclimates. This can mean itโs a hot sunny day at the foot but snowing and hailing at the top, so please bring appropriate dress. You will need to carry these clothing options on your hike as well as enough food and water for the trail. A suggested kit list is at the end of this information sheet.
Kit List
- Sturdy, broken-in waterproof hiking shoes or boots. Or at least waterproof socks, because you may have to step into water at times. (We have a limited number to lend. If you require to borrow any please tell us at the time of booking so we can arrange availability prior to the trip)
- Rain & windproof jacket
- Waterproof over trousers
- Lightweight, breathable hiking shirts, trousers and/or shorts in warmer weather.
- Sweater or fleece layers
- Hat, gloves, scarf
- Water bottle
- Small rucksack for carrying personal items
- Sunscreen, Insect repellent, blister plasters, personal first aid
- All personal toiletries, towel, medications & clothing (there may be free time to look around the area)
