Day 1: ย After an early 6:00 AM departure from RAF Molesworth, we kick off with a diverse hike through the serene Blea Tarn and the “Secretive Glade.” Weโll navigate the historic Slaters Bridge and the Slate Wall Gap in Elterwater before heading to The New Dungeon Ghyll for a well-earned evening meal. Weโll finish the day by checking into the Great Langdale Bunkhouse.
-
Day 2: Today is all about the scramble! Weโll follow the waterfall up Stickle Ghyll to reach Stickle Tarn, where we get our first look at the formidable Pavey Ark. Using both hands and feet, we will traverse the mountain via Jackโs Rake, stopping at the “Gun Stone” for a summit photo. After conquering the peak and taking in the views over Langdale, we return to the valley floor.

Day 3:ย Our final day features a classic 8-mile loop from Grasmere. Weโll explore the massive Rydal Cave, wander through the Rydal Hall gardens, and trek the historic “Coffin Route” back into town. No trip is complete without a stop at the world-famous Grasmere Gingerbread Shop and the grave of William Wordsworth before we begin the journey back to RAF Molesworth.
