Youth Programs

School Age Care

School Age Care (SAC) is designed to promote cognitive, social, emotional, cultural, language, and physical development of children through interactive hands-on experiences while having fun. We provide a safe, secure environment that encourages self-confidence, curiosity, creativity, self-discipline, and resiliency.

A parent is a child’s first and primary educator. Parents are invited to become a part of our youth care team. Please contact staff about sharing skills with us such as crafts, hobbies or languages. We would also like to share in any family heritage celebrations.

ACTIVITIES
A wide range of physical and non-physical activities are offered by the SAC. Outside activities differ daily. In inclement weather, the gymnasium is used. A homework center offers an inviting area to finish school work or to explore new interests. A weekly schedule of activities is posted on the parent information board at the Youth Center.

ELIGIBILITY AND ENROLLMENT
Dependents of active-duty military members, DoD civilian employees and others authorized per AFI 34-144 are eligible for care in the School Age Care program. Ages accepted are between 5 (must be enrolled or have completed kindergarten) and 12 years old.

Boys and Girls Club Programs (BGCA)

BGCA has a long, proud partnership with the military, and all military youth centers worldwide are affiliated with BGCA. This program provides high-quality activities and curriculums traditional Boys & Girls Clubs provide. In addition, one-year, no-cost memberships are provided to children of approximately 70 percent of families who live outside military installations. For more info go to BGCA.

4-H Clubs
Youth in grades K–12 can participate in a 4-H Club in their community, either on or off the installation. The Club’s mission is inspiring civic engagement, building skills in STEM and Agriculture, and encouraging healthy living. 4-H Clubs meet on a regular basis. For more info go to 4-H Clubs.

Education & Career Programs
These programs help youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement.

Character & Leadership Programs
Helping youth become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process is the main thrust of these programs. They also develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to club and community, and celebrating our national heritage.

Torch Club
For youth ages 11-13. Members learn leadership by working together in four areas: service to club and community, education, health and fitness, and social recreation.

Health & Life Skills
These initiatives develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.

The Arts Programs
Programs in this core area enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.

Sports, Fitness and Recreation
These Club programs help develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, appreciation for the environment and social and interpersonal skills.

Youth Sponsorship Program
Traveling overseas and starting over can be a daunting experience for anyone. Although children adapt very well and usually don’t show a lot of strain, Youth Programs wants to make their transition as smooth and exciting as possible. Our goal is to provide your child with an easy transition and foster new friendships.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF AMERICA
BGCA provides innovative, quality programming designed to empower youth to excel in school and lead healthy, productive lives. BGCA also offers free memberships to military-affiliated youth not living near an installation.

Teen Programs

As today’s teens are becoming more independent, it’s important for them to have a place they can call their own. The Teen Program is just the place for them to get together with their peers to participate in positive programming based around their creativity and aspirations. Whether it’s video games, virtual reality set, or the influencer/recording studio, there is plenty to do. We also have lock-ins, adventure trips, teen retreats, and cultural nights.
