ABOUT US
Welcome to Outdoor Recreation which supports the communities at RAF Alconbury and RAF Molesworth. Our objective is to provide eligible ID card holders and their guests with the equipment/resources and programs to enjoy the great outdoors and the wonderful variety of countryside here in the UK.
Our program is backed up with expertise, years of experience and an outstanding safety record. Whether you join us for an activity trip, instructional program, renting equipment, purchasing resale items or requiring information for a do-it-alone trip, we are here to support you during your tour in the UK.
RENTALS AND INFORMATION:
WEEKEND TRIPS
Our summer weekend programs include:
• Hiking on Hadrian’s Wall
• Three Peaks Challenge
• Exploring North Wales
• Scotland & Ben Nevis-Skye
• Exploring the Lake District
DAY/EVENING ACTIVITIES
Day/evening activities include Paintball, Rock Climbing, Rope Course, Indoor Snowboarding/Skiing, Mountain Biking, Kayak/Canoeing, Indoor Climbing and Archery.
INSTRUCTORS/GUIDES
When organizing programs we aim to use our own staff whenever possible which helps to keeps costs lower for the participant. We also provide equipment, transportation, museum entry (when relevant) and some meals. To meet safety regulations we must adhere to prescribed instructor/ participant ratios. Space is limited on most trips so you are advised to secure your place by booking early (with a deposit).
INDIVIDUALS
Most of our participants sign up for activities as individuals, especially while finding their feet in the UK. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and share experiences. Outdoor Recreation can provide information on local recreational clubs and activities.
GROUPS
Looking for something different for a group of friends, a club or your squadron? Our programs can be tailored to meet your needs, whether social, challenging or team building. Depending on the activity we can accommodate 6-24 participants, with instruction, equipment, and transportation included in the package. We are also able to organize activity parties for all ages. RENTAL EQUIPMENT
A wide range of equipment is available to rent, including party equipment such as inflatables and Sumo Suits.
OUTDOOR RECREATION SHOP
Our shop has a range of reasonably priced outdoor clothing and equipment for the whole family. Call in to check out our deals.
RAF MOLESWORTH FACILITIES
On RAF Molesworth, facilities include a paintball site, golf range, golf pitch and putt, Frisbee golf, picnic pavilions, and campsite.
